This November, let’s send a message that we will defend our rights, demand economic and social justice and elect candidates who will stand with us.
Phil Bredesen for US Senate
Phil Bredesen is the democratic nominee running for US Senate in TN. He has previously served two terms as Tennessee Governor. Prior to that he served as the Mayor of Nashville from 1991 to 1999. He is a moderate democrat that has been strategically pandering to republican and moderate voters. As a result, he has not been vocal about progressive issues. While he has not articulated a clear position on criminal justice reform, he received $1500 in campaign contributions from the Tennessee State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police in 2015. He holds a mixed view on immigration, as he supports DACA, opposes the Border Wall, but does not support abolishing ICE. He has recently come under fire for his support of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. While he is a pro-choice advocate, he is not an avid supporter of the Affordable Care Act, as he does not think it is the right long term solution. He supports raising the federal minimum wage.
Karl Dean for Governor
