Candidates
This November, let’s send a message that we will defend our rights, demand economic and social justice and elect candidates who will stand with us.
James Smith Jr for Governor
Learn More
James Smith, Jr. is the Democratic candidate running to be South Carolina’s next Governor. Smith has promised that his first executive order as Governor will be medicaid expansion - and this includes access to reproductive health contraceptives and services for women. James Smith has a record of supporting immigrant rights. Smith has been endorsed the SC AFL-CIO and is a supporter of unions. When compared to his opponent - James Smith, Jr. is a safe bet for reducing the amount of harm faced in Black and working class communities.
Constance Anastopoulo for Attorney General
Learn More
Constance Anastopoulo is the Democratic candidate for Attorney General of South Carolina. Anastopoulo is a professor at Charleston School of Law. Anastopoulo’s campaign has three cornerstones: ethics reform, opioid crisis (wants to hold drug manufacturers accountable), and the fight for women (equal pay for equal work). When it comes to issues such as policing, mass incarceration, and immigration - Anastopoulo’s commitment to policies and reforms that work in the interests of Black, working class communities is unclear.
